Typically we are looking for people who have recently graduated, or are in who are in the final year of study. We are about attracting the best, so we are looking for people who not only have good university results, but also personal attributes in team work, leadership and innovation. An intermediate level of English is necessary because we develop our talent globally. You also need to be prepared to move to other countries throughout your career.
Where are we hiring?
India
Indian Explosives Limited (IEL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Orica Mining Services, Australia and has manufacturing facilities in all the mining belts in the country. It is a leader in blasting and explosives technology.
As part of induction, graduates are rotated through Commercial, Operational and Technology functions and then placed in the Technical Services team.
The IEL Technical Services team is centrally located at the Head Office in Kolkata and moves on call to various mining locations across the country as and when required. The team has specialised members for every area of Explosives application i.e. underground, tunnelling or open-cut operations.
Indonesia
PT Orica Mining Service Indonesia has operations in major mining sites in the country scattered in Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara and Papua. Our graduates will be trained in day-to-day operations from Plant, Mobile Manufacturing Unit, Field and Site Management.
We are looking for qualified Mining Engineers. A Second Class Blaster Certificate will be an advantage. You will need to be mobile, as you will be based in various mining locations across Indonesia.
Philippines
Orica Philippines Incorporated is the sole manufacturer of ISO 9002 certified explosives and initiating explosive products in the Philippines. Its manufacturing facility located in Limay, Bataan is about 3 hours northwest by car from its head office in Taguig City, Metro Manila. It also operates a manufacturing facility supplying bulk slurry explosives to the only operating open pit mines in Negros Island, Visayas, Philippines.

China
OEW (Orica Explosives-Weihai) is the first and only cooperative foreign joint-venture in the Chinese explosives industry. OEW has over 215 employees serving over 100 domestic customers in different segment markets with a primary focus on the ‘top end’. These include open-cut and underground mines, quarries and construction.
We are looking for enthusiastic graduates willing to work in the field with qualifications in Mining, Blasting, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
