Community Giving Programs
Orica is committed to improving life in the communities in which we live and work. Here are some examples of the ways in which we are really making a difference.
Community Foundation
The Community Foundation is a corporate-giving program, established by Orica in 2004. We donate to a number of global organisation including Habitat for Humanity, Landcare and The Nature Conservancy.
Dare To Share
This program gives Australian employees the opportunity to donate to a charity or charities of their choice, direct from their pre-tax pay. Employee donations are matched by Orica. There are twelve charities to choose from, including the Salvation Army, Australian Red Cross, Landcare Australia, Open Family, the Cancer Council, the Inspire Foundation, Alzheimer’s Australia, Camp Quality, Surf Life Saving Australia, MS Australia, the RSPCA and the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia.
In 2009, Orica donated more than $240,000 to the chosen charities.
Donations
The equivalent of dividends payable on a shareholding of approximately 0.5% of the company's ordinary issued capital is allocated for donation at the direction of the Corporate Governance and Nominations Committee.
